Welcome to PEMS Web

We are in the process of developing this site, so please bear with us. To receive updates of the latest development, add our news feed to your RSS reader or web browser with live-bookmark support.

What is PEMS Web?

PEMS Web (Public Environmental Modeling and Simulation Web) is an internet portal that connects the public to a web of computer-based, environmental models and simulations shared by experts and researchers from around the world. >> read more

What can you do with PEMS Web?

Interested in environmental issues?
Models and simulations can help you gain an insight and predict outcomes of environmental issues. With PEMS Web, you can access and interact with a variety of environmental models previously unavailable to the general public. Just browse through the lists, and when you find a model that you're interested, simply run it right from your web browser -- no extra software needed. >> start browsing

Designing or planning something with environmental implications?
In addition to using the individual models directly, you can also integrate them through PEMS Web to form a new simulation suitable for your own applications. This is as easy as creating a new web page with links to pages published by other people. >> read how-to

Having a model to share?
Whether you are an environmental expert or an enthusiast, PEMS Web makes it easy for you to open access to your models and simulations. Note that only the services of your models are shared -- the actual models stay with you and their codes are inaccessible to other people. Thus, your IP is protected.

Or, you can also choose to open source your models and allow others to help improve them. >> read how-to

Teaching or learning about the environment?
The environmental models and simulations shared through PEMS Web can enhance your interactive teaching and learing experience. Also use the forums to discuss and exchange your knowledge with other people.
